I’m a registered member of NZAC (New Zealand Association of Counsellors) and an approved practitioner of ACFEB (the Australian Centre For Eating Behaviours).
I am a pluralist counsellor using a collaborative and relaxed person-centred approach. I use elements of Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other modalities in our work to support you to make positive changes in your life.
I have completed a Masters of Counselling Studies and am committed to my own ongoing professional and personal development and growth.
I moved to Wellington in 2007 from Cardiff, Wales, UK. I originally trained in drama before working as a facilitator and trainer working with a range of issues including areas of consultation, participation, inclusion and play. My work with young people and adults combined with my personal experiences led me on the path to retraining as a counsellor.
I am a mother of two energetic young children and have lived experience of managing chronic illness.
We all face challenges in our lives that can leave us feeling uncertain and adrift at times. Counselling is a supportive and collaborative process to help you gain greater understanding and more confidence in working through the challenges you face.
Sessions are tailored to your individual needs in collaboration with you.
Issues I have worked with include: disordered eating; body image; anxiety; depression; grief and loss, life changes.
